Mission Preview
For those of you familar with RDI (Relationship Development Intervention) you know that writing a "mission preview" is a great tool for creating a vision/plan of where you want to be in 3 months, 6 months or the end of the year.
In your mission preview you write a short narrative (as if it is a scene from a film) where you describe what you want your relationship with you ASD child/teen to "look "like.
Think about an experience you would like to share or trip you would like to take. Write your preview in terms that are attianable -- not a picture of a "cure." The idea here is to write your mission preview in realistic terms and then consult the mission preview at various points in time to see you you are doing.
Give this a try today! Write down a paragraph -- make it simple and personal.
In two weeks take a look at it and seee where you are --- and then again a month later, and so on. Adjust your mission preview as needed!
